Auctionsplus Accolade – Tom Brodie

On Tuesday the 23rd of November, Tom was awarded Australia’s Top Cattle Assessor for online livestock sales platform, AuctionsPlus.

Between 2015 and 2016, (financial year), Brodie Agencies offered 6,800 cattle and 13,000 sheep that were sold to registered bidders throughout the country. Approximately 72 per cent of these cattle were sold to Queensland buyers, 25 per cent were sold to New South Wales and the remaining 3 per cent to the Northern Territory. Only 27 per cent of sheep sold by the agency remained in Queensland while 73 per cent of the offered sheep were trucked to New South Wales buyers.

As well as Tom’s personal accolade, Brodie Agencies was announced as the second best branch in Australia for the volume of livestock sold via AuctionsPlus. This award was a combined effort of livestock processed by stock agents Tom Brodie, Jack Brodie, Bill Schaefer and Josh Phelps.

The Brodie family has had a long association with AuctionsPlus – formerly known as CALM – dating back to 1992, when Tom first became an assessor. Tom was extremely humble in his acceptance, instead taking the opportunity to express great thanks to his clients and the AuctionsPlus team.

“I believe AuctionsPlus is only going to continue to grow and play a bigger part of marketing livestock into the future,” he said.

“The online forum maximises the returns for our producers by giving them far greater exposure to potential buyers Australia wide.”
