LOCATION:

Brown’s Pump Shop is located in a prime access position at 16 Mount Leyshon Road, Charters Towers. This business is ideally positioned on the Flinders Highway which is the western road and rail corridor from Townsville to Mount Isa and beyond, as well as the North-South road link between Cairns and Emerald.  The residence is located next door at 14 Mount Leyshon Road.

SERVICE:

Brown’s Pump Shop business is not limited to, but includes the sales and service of borehole submersible pumps, solar pumping systems, electric transfer and pressure pumps, engine driven centrifugal and helical rotor pumps, generators, poly pipe and fittings, PVC pipe and fittings, flexible water hoses of all sizes, water infrastructure for gardens, parks and ovals, water control valves and pressure switches, irrigation and windmill pump supplies, brass float valves and fittings, camlock fittings, water filters, solar panel arrays with frames and electric cables.

Another service offered is the regular cleaning and maintenance of bore holes (to a maximum depth of 150 metres) with a FS Curtis (FAC – 110B) 390cfm air-compressor that is mounted on a tandem trailer. Tree root ingression, decaying plant and animal matter as well as sand and dirt affect the viability of bores. Coupled with the use of a borehole camera (200m maximum depth), the compressor assists with the protection of valuable water infrastructure, especially submersible pumps. The compressor can also be used to drive sand spears for the use of sub terrain water sources.

BUILDINGS:

The main building is approximately 46.5 x 15 metres with 700 square metres under roof and has disability access throughout. It is very well set out with a large showroom complimented with ceiling fans and all stock being displayed on shelving. There is a large fully equipped workshop area that includes two delivery and unloading bay accesses and storage at the southern end of the building.

HOUSE:

The residence is a very solid 3 bedroom, high set home that is fully fenced on a 1,548 square metre block. The upstairs living space is an open style kitchen/ dining and lounge room. All the bedrooms are air-conditioned and have built-in cupboards; there is a bathroom and toilet on this level. Downstairs there is the laundry, storage room, second toilet and undercover parking for one car. The home is in the process of being renovated by the Vendors. There are large shade trees, a small garden shed and it has its own water bore equipped with a jet pump.

AGENTS REMARKS:

Brown’s Pump Shop is a very good sustainable stand-alone business showing increasing year on year profits. It is very well positioned to service the rural water infrastructure requirements of the rural properties in Central, Western and Northern Queensland as well as the local council, schools and small lifestyle blocks. It would also be an ideal off-farm investment for those producers wanting to diversify their livestock enterprise. The business is on a large 2,097 square metre block and the 3 bedroom residence is next door on its own 1,548 square metre block.
