Rainfall: The Mt Harden rainfall average is 19 inches per annum.

Country: Mt Harden is predominately shaded Brigalow, Gidyea and Boree downs country grassed with Mitchell and Buffel. There is also approx 13,000 acres of pulled Gidyea country with the balance being pebbly Gidyea, Boree and Brigalow country growing a mixture of sweet herbages and salines and rising to a small area of ridge. There is extensive Buffel throughout the Coolibah Creek systems and becoming established across the rest of the property. An extensive Graslan program has been carried out. The Blackall region including Mt Harden is renowned as some of Queenslands best sheep country.

The vendor estimates the breakup of country as follows:

  • 55,000 acres heavily grassed Mitchell and Buffell shaded downs country
  • 13,000 acres pulled Gidyea country
  • 16,000 acres of channels, Dead finish and lighter Brigalow/Gidyea country rising to ridges

Waters: The water system on Mt Harden has been thoughtfully developed with 2 sub artesian bores connected to rural power and 1 Solar sub bore, all three of these pumping to tanks and troughs. Each paddock is double or triple watered with the pipe lines from both the dams and bores being interconnected for security complimenting eachother. There are also 28 dams that are feral fenced and 13 with either solar pumps or windmills equipped.

Paddocks: Split into 30 paddocks and 8 holding paddocks. The fencing on Mt Harden ranges from new to good stock proof condition with possibly the property’s most attractive feature being that it is fully exclusion fenced. Low Kangaroo numbers allow secure pastures and maximum growth after rain. It is also subdivided into three portions by exclusion fencing for further pest management. There is an extensive laneway system throughout the property for ease of management.

Yards: 3 sets of cattleyards  (200 – 500hd in capacity) mainly of portable panel construction all with scales underneath crush or scales platform. There are also 2 sets of Sheep yards one at Lowana and one at Mt Harden.

Homestead: The Mt Harden homestead is a well maintained 3 bed, 2 bath Qld style homestead set upon an elevated setting. There is a built in cold room and 2 inverter reverse cycle airconditioners. There is also a 2nd comfortable home at Lowana which has 4 bed and 2 bath and is also complimented by a cold room and evaporative airconditioning and 1 reverse cycle airconditioner.
