300 approx. good to very good quality HGP free soft crossbred steers that have good bone, length & frame about them. They are mostly number 7’s with a small % of number 8’s. There are 100 head running in a paddock on their own. These steers are in fresher condition and the majority are tidy around the head. The other 200 steers (are lighter in condition, with approx 24% that have horns that have not been dehorned or tipped), are running in a different paddock with approximately 300 heifers and 50 of the neighbours Brahman steers. Please disregard these Brahman steers and the heifers that are in the photos. The steers look to have a weight range of 180 to 320 with most in the 240 to 320 kgs weight range and look to average around 280 kg. They are quiet and well-handled and have a reputation of being good performing cattle. The majority are Droughtmaster cross with approx 23% Angus cross and 3% with small Brahman humps and a small % that are by Charbray bulls and a Braunvieh bull. There are a few late cut, butt horn steers in the mob. There should be 7 to 8 decks with a small draft of approx 3% lessor quality steers if the numbers come in out of the paddock. These steers should have a very good compensatory weight gain as they are running on very dry short Mitchell grass at present.
