153 or 4.5 decks of VGQ 12 to 16 month old HGP free weaner steers. They were excellent quiet steers to assess. The majority of the steers have good bone, length & frame for their age & breed with only 4% having lighter bone. These steers would have a very good compensatory weight gain as they have plenty of frame and are lighter in condition. They are very tidy tidy around the head – mostly polled with a small percentage having small weaner horn. 8 steers observed with either blue spot or cloudy eye. They are out of VGQ large frame crossbred breeders and by Androssan Angus or Strathmore Santa bulls. Very light season at Llewellyn this summer & now grasshoppers are eating the pasture. Vendor selling 5 lots of cows & calves and another 2 deck lot of lighter steers and 6 decks of VGQ weaner heifers in this sale. The A+ sale cows would be the mothers of the majority of these #9 weaners. They averaged 305 kg at assessment after 16 hour curfew. Llewellyn is Prickly Acacia free.
