Pick 144 from 154 PTIC cows. They are mostly two brands – the majority are from a property east of Alice Springs and the others are from “Daintree”, Winton. The Alice Springs cows are mostly 6 to 9 year old with a few younger ones. There should not be any cows older than 2008 drop. The Daintree cows were a mixture of ages from 2008 to 2014 drop. There are a few smaller frame cows as well as some large frames but most would be medium frame. Most had weaners pulled off them 10 weeks ago. They are in calf 3 to 8 months (most 5 to 7 months) to VGQ Santa, Charolais, Santa / Charolais cross bulls as well as 1 Grey Brahman Elrose bred bull. The cows were back lined for lice. They are good to handle in the paddock but some are stirry when handled in the yards and the crush. They are all flat back type cows with only a small % of higher content Droughtmaster types. They are mainly in store to forward condition.
