4 decks of mostly VGQ weaned crossbred HGP free steers that had an average weight of 285 kgs after 20 hours off feed but with access to water. There are 8 head that are of fair quality but I would expect the balance to grow out well to suit the heavy feedlot trade or grass fatten into young bullocks. The majority have good bone and frame for their breed and age. The majority of the steers are well dehorned or poll. The steers with horn only have small weaner horn or are poll scurrs except for one steers with 60mm horns. One steer has been late cut & still looks a little bully around the head. The 20 heaviest steers were mouthed & all were milk tooth including the only steer that was not vendor bred. These steers should have a very good compensatory weight gain. Approx. 15% with small defined hump. There is prickly acacia on vendors property. Vendor has a 4 deck lot of their lighter x’bred brothers & 2 decks of light Brahman steers in this sale.
